SEAS / SEJS Promoting entrepreneurial spirit in CDC

Launch of a Youth Orientation and Propulsion Cell

Secretary of State for Social Affairs Mouna Osman Aden and his youth and sports counterpart Hassan Mohamed Kamil jointly met on Sunday afternoon at the Community Development Center in Quartier 7, A cell of orientation and propulsion of the young people. The initiative is part of the celebration of National Social Action Week.

The Secretary of State for Social Affairs Mouna Osman Aden and the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, Hassan Mohamed Kamil, together sponsored last Sunday at the Community Development Center A cell of orientation and propulsion of young people. The event brought together local personalities and a good number of young people from various community development centers in the capital.

The ceremony began with the reading of a verse from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a presentation by the ADDS project manager for the promotion of youth employment and craftsmanship. For example, Idd Mohamed Abdillahi presented the different stages in the setting up of a project, with the help of slide projections. He outlined the business plan and the means of achieving it. He also informed the audience of a project for the training of young people in entrepreneurship, in which 136 young people have submitted business plans relating to their business plans and are waiting for subsidies which Will be paid very soon.

Speaking in turn, Nagwa Ahmed, responsible for “young credits” of the Credit and Savings Bank (CPEC), explained the functioning of the microfinance institution it represents. She encouraged young promoters to come to the CPEC booths. Then, a young beneficiary of the CPEC fund, Sahal Hassan Robleh, testified his experience told the audience his path in the launch of entrepreneurship. This has greatly appealed to young people. This testimony was followed by the intervention of the president of the club of young entrepreneurs of Djibouti. Choukri Abdillahi, as it is about her, highlighted the objectives of her club and those of the project entitled “propulsion of young people”.

For his part, the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, Hassan Mohamed Kamil, stressed the importance of governmental solidarity in the flourishing of youth. He urged young people to embark on entrepreneurship, which is now offered as an alternative to youth unemployment.

Finally, Mouna Osman Aden, Secretary of State for Social Affairs, spoke on the need to promote the entrepreneurial spirit among young people. She welcomed the massive presence of young people at the CDC in Quartier 7. This reflected their willingness to undertake. Mrs. Mouna Osman Aden also pointed out that the CDCs are the meeting place and the driving force of young people, hence the setting up of youth orientation and propulsion cells.

These units will work with young people in neighborhoods who are experiencing difficulties in accessing employment and training in order to inform them or guide them in their career choices while providing answers to the problems of their professional integration.
