As part of the popularization of its activities, the Djiboutian Agency for Social Development (ADDS), in collaboration with the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (TIKA), proceeded last Sunday to a distribution of school supplies and clothing new ones for the benefit of children from poor families and orphans in the localities of Omar Jagaa, PK51and Hilbaley in the Arta region.
In addition to clothing, school supplies, consisting of satchels, notebooks, pens and erasers, are granted in order to reduce the cost of access to education and, thus, to relieve the budgets of families in need close to 428 schoolchildren who will take the road to school during this new school year. The action took place in the presence of the prefect of the region of Arta, Mr. Abdillahi Darar Okieh, the president of the regional council, Mr. Elmi Bouh Goubhad, the deputy of the region, Mr. Omar Elmi Waberi, the director Acting Director of ADDS Mr. Dirieh Farah Souldan, Turkish Ambassador accredited to Djibouti, Mr. Sadi Altinok, and TIKA Coordinator, Mr. Mikail Tasdemir.
On this occasion, the ambassador of Turkey accredited to Djibouti, Mr. Sadi Altinok paid tribute to the ancestral friendship between the people of Turkey and Djibouti, adding that his country will constantly support the development efforts of Djibouti.
For his part, the deputy of the region of Arta, Mr. Omar Elmi Waberi, welcomed this gesture and did not fail to thank ADDS and TIKA.
