A launching ceremony for the activities of the Community Development Fund (CDF) was held yesterday at the Community Development Center in Quartier 7. The initiative was part of the second urban poverty reduction project in Djibouti in Quartier 7.
She has gathered on-site the president of the commune of Boulaos, Said Abdi Elmi, ADDS social development director Dirieh Farah Souldan, sub-prefect of the 2nd arrondissement, Abdi Hassan, director of the CDC of Quartier 7, Koureicha Abdi Guedi, chairman of the FDC management committee, Aboubaker Moussa Arreh, and representatives of associations signing agreements with the ADDS. Officials took turns taking the floor to exhort the 15 associations to execute the projects in accordance with the terms of the contracts concluded. The commune of Boulaos and the sub-prefecture of the 2nd arrondissement affirmed their support alongside the ADDS in the pursuit of efforts to mitigate the risks of social fracture.
Let us note in passing that the reduction of urban poverty called « PREPUD Quartier 7 » is financed by the World Bank.
It includes works and activities that aim to improve the quality of life of 5,000 households in this neighborhood by rehabilitating roads, setting up literacy and vocational training Women and youth, and improving the level of efficiency of sanitation and garbage collection.
As part of this project, a number of facilities have been built in Ward 7, including a community development center, a health center and a recreation area.
