The Djiboutian Social Development Agency (ADDS) organized a ceremony for the distribution of 200-liter drums to the benefit of vulnerable households from neighbour- hood at the Community Development Center (CDC) in Quartier 7. The event brought together ADDS representative Galab Hassan Galab, sub-prefect of the second district, Abdi Hassan, president of the association « Guelleh Batal », Yacin Osman Omar, technical adviser to the secretary State Secretary for Youth and Sports, Omar Guedi Ali, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Woman and Family, Amina Ahmed Yonis, Director of the CDC of District 7, Kourecha Abdi Guedi.
The number of drums offered was 20. The initiative was part of the activities of the Community Development Fund (CDF), which was intended to support the associations active in Quartier 7. It was financially supported by the World Bank, The spirit of the project to reduce urban poverty in Djibouti or PREPUD according to professional jargon. The ADDS is the prime contractor in this popular district of the capital.
The PREPUD aims to improve the quality of the living environment of the 5,000 households in Quartier 7. And this through the rehabilitation of roads, the implementation of literacy activities that go hand in hand with the offers Vocational training, and improved sanitation services and garbage collection management.
The Quartier 7 Community Development Fund (CDF) has a role to play in this regard. It finances activities aimed at improving the impact and sustainability of the investment program under the second PREPUD in Quartier 7.
