The Secretary of State for National Solidarity Zahra Youssouf Kayad had visited last Wednesday in the capital of the Dikhil region, on one hand, proceed to the inauguration of electrification project using solar energy on behalf of the Al-Rahma orphanage and, secondly, see firsthand the implementation of several projects initiated by the Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS) with funding from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and implemented by local organizations under the guise of community development funds in the region.
The Secretary of State for National Solidarity Zahra Youssouf Kayad, visited last Wednesday the chief town of Dikhil region and sponsored the inaugural ceremony of an electrification project using solar energy Al-Rahma city funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the order of 4o million of our francs.
The event was attended on-site advisor to the President of the Republic Mr. Abdi Elmi Ashkar Director General ADDS Mahdi Mohamed Djama, the Deputy Prefect of Dikhil Youssouf, President of the Regional Council Mr. Abdurahman Yonis Arreh, parliamentarians from the region and senior officials of ADDS and an expert delegation from JICA.
In a brief speech, Secretary of State urged the people of this town to ensure the maintenance and repair of solar equipment installed. Furthermore a Japanese expert spoke and was pleased with the excellent cooperation relationship between the Republic of Djibouti and Japan concerning aid for sustainable development of our country.
This solar panel electrification project concerns 100 homes, a school, a mosque and a center santé.Rappelons the Al-Rahma city was inaugurated by the president Ismail Omar Guelleh on February 24 2011.
Subsequently, Ms. Zahra Youssouf Kayad moved in both rural communities and Kontali cheikayti to see firsthand the implementation of several projects whose two tanks each of two localities to benefit the population of these two areas, c that is to say 500 households.
First, the Secretary of State for National Solidarity visited Kontali villagede where several projects have achieved, namely a water tank and a drinking water supply. Second, the Minister visited the village of Cheikayti where she could see the various projects executed by a local association financed to the tune of three million of our frank and implemented by the ADDS in this village. Citonns rehabilitation of wells, construction of a water tank with a capacity of 50 m3 of water and a fire hydrant for the village of Cheikayti.
A project run by a local association in order to improve the living conditions of these households and to fight against thirst. On behalf of the people, a beneficiary of the project expressed his deep appreciation to the Secretary of the National Solidarity Eta, the Director of the ADDS that favored the implementation of the project contributes to the fight against poverty.
Previously these two localities did not have drinking water systems or modern water points.
During the dry season, watering livestock, became a serious problem for the inhabitants of these villages.
The presence of water tanks and a water supply system will alleviate this problem and can help in the regeneration of the natural environment by planting local species that can serve as fodder for animals elements and men. The main beneficiaries are the inhabitants of the two villages ie about 500 inhabitants.
Moreover, Zahra Youssouf Kayad participated at the headquarters of the cultural association and crafts development in a neighborhood in the center of the city, a presentation of certificates ceremony for 20 women who have successfully completed training sewing for 6 months.
This project, which began in early January and will enable these women to increase their income through employment they will find after the training they received in sewing. A project by the cultural association and crafts development in order to improve the living conditions of these 20 beneficiaries.
Funded to the tune of three million CFA francs by the African Development Bank (ADB) and implemented by the ADDS, aims to allow these girls to acquire the necessary qualifications of a trade or professional activity but also the fight against unemployment. Then the brand visiting shifted in the district of Haro, a poor district of the town of Dikhil or she participated in another ceremony of certificates to 30 women trained in crafts and sewing.
The implementation of training promotes good qualifying apprentices completing their training improved the quality and increased revenues.

Then, they were immersed in the park in the cattle town of Dikhil where she could be aware of the progress of work of the stockyard funded ADDS whose total cost construction is estimated at 75 million CFA francs.
Recall that the stockyard has an area of 15000 M2 and few animals will 28OOO transited, then the animals are transported to the capital. The park has cattle in a pen, a management office and a veterinary clinic.
In addition, Ms. Zahra Youssouf Kayad moved in the poor part of town to see firsthand the implementation progress of the work Harou market located in a poor district of Dikhil.
The Secretary of State for National Solidarity, held a collective iftar last Wednesday that brought together more than 70 people. The event took place in the courtyard of the tourist center Palmeraie.
Participating in the collective fasting breaking ceremony of the Sultan of Gobaad Habib Mohamed Loita, parliamentarians of the region, the Director of the ADDS, the deputy prefect of the region Mr. Yousssouf the Regional Chair Mr. Abourahman Yonis Arreh members of the regional council, the administrative authorities, the representative of associative movements.
After Iftar and prayer magrib, several personalities were expressed and interventions ball was opened by the deputy prefect. Youssouf urged civil society to move forward and thanked the Secretary of State to the national solidarity.
