Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS) held on 30 June discount in hairdressing training certificates ceremony and traditional tattooing candidates in the sub-prefecture of Damerjog in the presence of sub-prefect, Mr. Elmi Waberi Osman, President of the Regional Council of Arta, Mr. Djama Omar Odowa, general secretary of the Promotion of Women, Ms. Abubaker Halo, and the director of CASAF center, Ms. Roda Ahmed Doualeh and the member Djibril Abdillahi.
The initiative falls within the framework of urban poverty reduction program (PREPUD), implemented by the ADDS in the five regions within the country through the financial support of the African Development Bank (ADB). The event came uphold the merits of learners Damerjog.
Indeed, the recipients of certificates followed for six months in a hairdressing training within the CASAF Centre with the support of ADDS. This ceremony rewards their efforts by certifying and providing them with kits to start a business. Note that this training took place in good conditions, thanks to the combined efforts of the ADDS, the CASAF and Damerjog committee that ensured proper coordination particularly in the field of logistics. Recall that the PREPUD is funded by ADB.
The intervention of the Bank aims to increase the socio-economic development in the five regions of the interior. The project includes capacity building activities, construction and rehabilitation of priority infrastructure in the capitals of Ali Sabieh, Arta, Dikhil, Obock and Tadjourah. Expected results in the long term, achieving the Millennium Development Goals and in the medium term, reduce the gaps between regions and Djibouti city through improved access to quality urban services and microfinance as well as local initiatives financing mechanism.
