A mission of the World Bank led by the resident country director in Cairo, Egypt, Mr. Schafer Hartwing représentante- resident and the World Bank in Djibouti, Ms. Homa-Zahra Fotouhi, visited on Monday the sites containing the project nets in the locality of Damerjog in the region of Arta.
Arrive in the early morning of the day on Monday, the delegation of the World Bank was greeted by the prefect of the region of Arta, Mr. Ateyeh Waïs surrounded by the sub-prefect of Damerjog, Waberi Elmi, director of the department Social development ADDS, Dirieh Farah Souldan and representatives of civil society in this locality.
The purpose of the visit of the delegation was to supervise the activities in the project safety net, funded by the World Bank and executed by ADDS.
The delegation went on one of the sites developed to assist pregnant women in the context of social safety nets.
As part of this program, formed by the ADDS of facilitators provide consistent nutritional and medical monitoring. The main beneficiaries are pregnant and lactating women and children under two years.
The delegation led by Hartwing Schafer also visited the various activities taking place in the resort, such as community homes in the fight against malnutrition, high labor-intensive services.
The mission also discussed with the beneficiaries and the ADDS. The delegation was then able to see firsthand the cooking demonstrations Damerjog women with kits provided by UNFD. The members of the delegation were able to enjoy various dishes cooked to the well-being of the mother and child.
At a press conference conducted at the end of the visit, the delegation of the WB in turn expressed their satisfaction with the results of the project in Djibouti.
Before congratulating ADDS and regional authorities, the country director was quick to declare that « the project of social safety nets of the World Bank is one of the most successful in terms of social protection. »
