The village of Ardo hosted on Sunday January 24, a strong ministerial delegation, led by the Minister of Social Affairs and Solidarity, Mouna Osman Aden. The movement of these members of the government, accompanied by senior executives from their respective departments is part of the national week of social action, organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Solidarity in collaboration with the Secretary of State responsible for decentralization. Twinning between the localities of God Dawo and Ardo, delivery of agricultural equipment, inauguration of premises, one of which is intended to strengthen the know-how of women and the other to that of the health of families in this locality, so many activities that MASS carried out during this 5th day to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants of Ardo.
After closing the activities of the national week of social action in the regions of southern Djibouti, last Thursday in Arta, the Minister of Social Affairs and Solidarity, Mouna Osman Aden accompanied by several of her government colleagues, namely the Minister of the Interior, Moumin Ahmed Cheikh, Minister of Health, Mohamed Warsama Dirieh, Secretary of State in charge of decentralization, Hamadou Mohamed Aramis, Secretary General of the National Union of Djiboutian Women (UNFD), Fatouma Moussa Abdi, director general of the population and family directorate, Ahmed Omar Djama, went on Sunday January 24 to the Ardo locality of the Randa sub-prefecture, in the Tadjourah region.
It should also be noted that community members from God Dawo locality in the Ali Sabieh region accompanied this delegation.
The choice of the locality of Ardo to launch the activities of this annual event, in the northern regions of the country, is not trivial. Indeed, located 5 kilometers from the road corridor connecting the city of Tadjourah to the border town of Balho, at the foot of the multicolored mountains of Goda, in a green area, the village of Ardo is known for its tourist and agro-pastoral activities, than those of goat cheese production and its high-quality artisanal potential passed down from mother to daughter for generations.
Welcomed on arrival at the scene, the delegation was greeted by the prefectural and regional authorities of Tadjourah and a jubilant crowd made up of customary leaders, the spokespersons of the various cooperatives and the young people of Ardo.
Minister Mouna Osman and her companions first visited exhibitions where artisans, farmers, producers of goat cheeses from Ardo and those from Dougoum exhibited the products of their know-how, then handed over to farmers from this locality of tools made up of pickaxes, shovels, garden hoses, hoes… .etc, before inaugurating a room equipped with several sewing machines and a dispensary. So many activities carried out during this day, the objective of which is to promote the know-how of women and improve the living conditions of the inhabitants of the Ardo locality.
In discussions that took place under a gigantic jujube tree in the bed of the Wadi Ardo, members of the government twinned the communities of Ardo and God Dawo. Indeed, these two communities not only have socio-environmental similarities but they also both have an active and effective community base.
In his speech on this occasion, the Minister of the Interior, Moumin Ahmed Cheikh underlined the importance of peace in the process of socio-economic development of communities.
The Minister of Health indicated that the MASS promotes the establishment of health infrastructure and is committed to providing all the necessary drugs for dispensaries set up in rural areas.
For the Secretary of State for Decentralization, Hamadou Mohamed Aramis, it is about highlighting social actions promoted locally, to create synergies and thus maximize our results in the fight against precariousness, extreme poverty and social exclusion.
« It is above all an exemplary way of demonstrating the fruits of the partnership and collaboration that have been established for three (3) years between our two departments, namely that of Social Affairs and that of Decentralization » he added. « We understood, and this in the interest of our populations that partnership and solidarity in action, cooperation and collaboration in our programming, our planning and the pooling of our various resources can only unite the ‘understanding of the actors in the field for the benefit of the most needy’ indicated the secretary of state in charge of decentralization.
“As our popular wisdom says, one hand cannot properly wash the face,” he insisted.
« We are also convinced that unity in social action is the fundamental foundation on which the synergy must be built around empowered and supported communities to take charge of their own development » affirmed Mr. Hamadou Mohamed to conclude his remarks. .
The Minister of Social Affairs and Solidarity, Mouna Osman Aden, mentioned the wish of her ministerial department, carried out the twinning between the village of God Dawo and that of Ardo to make visible the various projects and programs, concerning resilience and the fight against poverty, carried out by the Social Development Agency of MASS, in this locality cited as a reference in terms of socio-economic development.
She also highlighted the projects and programs carried out in this village in the Randa sub-prefecture in the Tadjourah region.
And in Dorra, Sunday afternoon
Also in the Tadjourah region, a delegation visited the town of Dorra on Sunday afternoon.
This delegation, led by the Secretary General of MASS, Ifrah Ali Ahmed, as well as the senior officials of the State Secretariat in charge of decentralization and the ADDS were able to visit training sessions, led by ADDS and CLÉ, with young people from its localities, namely Balho and Malaho. Nearly thirty young people are trained on entrepreneurship within the framework of FORJE.
