The Secretary of State for National Solidarity Zahra Youssouf Kayad, sponsored yesterday at the Holl-Holl village, the program launching ceremony of social safety nets. Funded by the World Bank, said the target program 200 households for a period of two years in the locality of assajog Holl-Holl. Its purpose is to eradicate malnutrition among children 0-2 years old, pregnant and lactating women.
The Secretary of State for National Solidarity visited yesterday Holl-Holl village where she launched the social safety net program.
In doing so, Ms. Zahra Youssouf Kayad was surrounded by the prefect of the region of Ali Sabieh, Mohamed Waberi Assoweh, President of the Regional Council of Ali Sabieh, Omar Ahmed Waïs, the Director General of the Djibouti Social Development Agency (ADDS), Mahdi Mohamed Djama.
Also note the presence at the scene of several senior ADDS, customary leaders, and spokesmen of the local people. The one and the other gave the impression to measure the scope of the initiative. Upstream, the selected households are sensitized on the importance of breastfeeding, medical monitoring of pregnant women in the development of young children.
A second component of the program includes work-intensive labor. These services consist of the rehabilitation of community infrastructure, the construction of commercial facilities, maintenance of roads and wooded areas, street cleaning and garbage collection.
Concretely, the community of Holl-Holl benefit from the support of women in the beautification and preservation of the environment through cleaning and rehabilitation of public infrastructure.
In this regard, the device, set up, combines several institutional actors. These include ADDS in implementing the program and the Ministry of Health in the supervision of health actions.
To date, more than 3484 households benefited from short-term job creation in the capital and regions of the interior. Finally, preventive activities of malnutrition affected children and 5335 mothers.
