The NGO Macubani and Djibouti Social Development Agency held last Thursday at a ceremony Tadjourah certificates to local associations whose representatives participated in a training workshop on the installation and project management.
The cooperative movement is a key player in social development. ADDS and strives to help them respond more effectively to the improvement of living conditions of the population. Last Thursday , the agency organized a ceremony to Tadjourah end of training in partnership with Macoubani association. This training , which lasted two weeks , focused on setting up projects and their management . This initiative is part of the project to reduce urban poverty in the capitals ADB funded programs including capacity building of regional associations led by ADDS. The ceremony was chaired by the President of the Regional Council of Tadjourah , Hassan Hussein in the presence of the Director of Social Development ADDS Mr. Dirrieh and president of the NGO Mouhbani Mohamed Abubakar . Forty association leaders and some local authorities took part in this event.
After completing the diagnostic phase which identify the strengths and weaknesses of these organizations , a plan for capacity building was to have been developed. To implement this plan, training sessions on community life , administration and management of various phases of the projects were carried out to enable to acquire adequate structural and institutional capacity to better meet the needs and priorities the population. This discount certificates marks the end of the training.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Hassan Hussein , President of the Regional Council , said that this training has allowed beneficiaries to acquire adequate structural and institutional capacity to better meet the needs and priorities of Tadjouriens population. For its part, the project manager for the ADDS said a community development fund whose governance will be ensured by a management committee will be available to these organizations. The latter took the opportunity to encourage civil society to develop Community utility projects.
For his part, the president of the NGO Mouhoubani indicated that all selected after investigation associations will soon drop their development headquarters Mouhbani for presentation at regional steering committee associations chaired by the President of the Regional Council study and validation. The approved projects will be forwarded thereafter to ADDS.
