The Djiboutian Social Development Agency organized last Thursday at the Al Rahma complex the official launch of the second phase of the project to promote youth employment and handicrafts. The program, entitled « Youth Training in Entrepreneurship and Women’s Access to Work in the Craft Industry », is funded by the Japanese Government through the World Bank.
The Djiboutian Social Development Agency, in collaboration with the World Bank and the Japanese government, officially launched last Thursday at the Al Rahma complex the second phase of the project to promote youth employment and handicrafts.
This project was initiated by the Government of Djibouti and is implemented by the State Secretariat for Social Affairs and ADDS and aims to provide employment opportunities to young people.
The launching ceremony of this second phase brought together the project leader, Mr. Ide Mohamed Abdillahi, the Secretary of State for Social Affairs, Ms. Mouna Ahmed Osman, the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Japan, the representative acting from the World Bank, ADDS Director Mahdi Mohamed Djama, CPEC Manager and the project beneficiaries who are 102 young winners of the Business Plan Competition. The secretary of state first addressed the latter whose projects were quite convincing and who have just obtained financial support to achieve them. « You knew, » she said, « to prove and convince the Approval Committee of your initiative and faith in the future. You have the congratulations and the encouragement of all this audience, an audience that reminds you that you have the responsibility not to fail « .
Mr. Kakuda, the charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Japan for his part called the young laureates not to be afraid and to realize their projects. « Today, » he said, « it’s a starting point for you; you will put your project into practice and you will encounter many difficulties in order to carry it out; but do not be afraid, your business plan has been much appreciated among those of many other candidates; it’s proof that you can succeed by overcoming many difficulties. «
There is no doubt that with such encouragement the young laureates will be able to jump into the water without much difficulty.
